Fees and Billing
Billing depends on the practitioner, consultation, service and patient circumstances. Contact reception before booking if you are unsure whether a private fee applies.
Bulk Billing
Annandale Doctors bulk bills standard eligible consultations for Medicare card holders. No out-of-pocket cost applies to these consultations. The reception team can advise whether a consultation will be bulk billed at the time of booking.
Bulk Billing Eligibility
Bulk billing is available for standard eligible consultations. The following patients are generally eligible:
- Patients with a valid Medicare card
- Concession card holders (Pension, Health Care Card)
- Children under 16 years
- DVA card holders for DVA-covered services
Private Fees
Private fees apply to non-eligible consultations, procedures and non-Medicare services. This includes consultations where a Medicare benefit is not payable, certain procedural items, and services not covered by Medicare. The reception team can advise of any applicable fees prior to your appointment.
Fees for procedures, skin checks, health assessments and other clinical services may vary. Please contact reception for a fee estimate before your appointment.
What Medicare Covers
Medicare covers a broad range of GP services including standard consultations, health assessments, chronic condition management reviews, mental health treatment plans, and referrals to specialists. Medicare does not cover all services — items such as some procedures, medical certificates, insurance reports and non-clinical services are not covered.
Please bring your Medicare card to every appointment. If your card details have changed, please advise reception.
DVA Card Holders
Annandale Doctors accepts Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Gold and White card holders for services covered under the DVA schedule. DVA Gold and White card arrangements depend on the service and applicable DVA requirements. Please present your DVA card at reception and advise reception when booking so the appropriate arrangements can be made.
WorkCover
Practitioners consulting from Annandale Doctors may assess work-related injury or illness. Billing depends on claim status, available authority and current practice arrangements. Patients may remain responsible for fees if direct billing cannot be completed. Please advise reception when booking and bring your claim number, employer details and any relevant correspondence.
External Providers
Fees charged by external providers — including pathology, radiology, and specialist services — are separate from the clinic's fees and may not be bulk billed. Please confirm fees directly with the relevant provider.
Payment Methods
For consultations where a private fee applies, the following payment methods are accepted:
- EFTPOS (credit and debit cards)
- Cash
- Medicare rebate processed on the day where applicable
Payment is required at the time of consultation for private services.
